Fresh off the success of Shaun of the Dead, creators Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright took a sharp left turn. Instead of another horror-comedy, they set their sights on action, skewering the bloated, over-the-top blockbusters of the ’80s and ’90s with Hot Fuzz. Marketed as the second entry in the Blood & Ice Cream trilogy, the film again paired Pegg with Nick Frost, reuniting the team from Spaced.
